Kaseya - ActiveX control kaxRemote.dll failed to load! -- Please check browser security settings.

This is just a quick technical blog post here... If your eyes glaze over while reading technical stuff, feel free to gloss over this. It's just up here because I searched for the answers, and couldn't find any, and that includes having contacted support. The answer is simple, yet wasn't to be found online, so I thought I'd throw it up onto the Internet for other morons like myself to find. :)

I freshly formatted my hard drive last night, and installed windows 7 again. When I logged into Internet Explorer to use Kaseya for remote control of my clients' machines, I got the following error:

"ActiveX control kaxRemote.dll failed to load! -- Please check browser security settings."

I made sure all browser security settings were right, but still nothing.

Long story short, the problem was that I was using "Internet Explorer (64-bit). Switch to the normal IE in your "Programs" list, and give it another shot before trying anything else. It may save you a few hours of frustration.

  1. Matt I need a geek. My company blog was gone missing after I bought a domain for it on blogger. www.ewurumconsulting.com
After two weeks of trying to sort it our with google support they tell me they deal with Apps problems and I should try the Help Forum. I have been doing so for the last two weeks and no answers.... :( frustrating.

  2. I had a similar issue when I pointed mattconlon.com to this blog. I'd done everything right, but there was something not quite right on their end.

I tweeted about it, and someone at blogger saw my tweet and fixed it.

Let me try to dig up that tweet, it was well over a year ago, but if I can find it, I can send you the twitter name of the fellow who helped. In the meantime, I'd recommend tweeting it out.

  4. Matt, I love your Gentleman Blogger pic. But I thought I better tell you that on your profile you are listed as female. I thought, "Matt is a strange name for a woman, but okay. Also, the picture looks like a man, but okay."
    Nice to meet you.

  7. Hi Wendy,

Unfortunately, no... I haven't. it doesn't seem to exist anymore on twitter. I found some references to a fellow named Brett who works for blogger, but I haven't seen any way to contact him directly.

I haven't looked into it, but is there a way to submit a trouble ticket to blogger?
